Don’t bother waiting for a call back. It won’t happen. I also sat in queue for an hour on the phone only to be hung up on when I got through to the receptionist. There’s never an actual GP in the building. 16 week wait to book an appointment. Took me a year to get a hospital referral despite asking repeatedly. Genuinely the worst surgery I’ve ever been to.

I have been a patient at the surgery for about 4 years now & have only ever had helpful and compassionate support from the GPs, nurses and staff. Everyone works in very difficult circumstances & I don't think get the credit they deserve. A big thank you from me.

In recent months I have found appointments easy to arrange. When problem has been suspected to be urgent, I have seen a friendly GP quickly. All of them are approachable and thorough. When I've needed referral that has been expedited very quickly. We are fortunate to have this surgery.

Had an emergency ultrasound referred by my doctor here and was told I'd get results 5 days later. It's been 3 weeks! Every time I call, the receptionist gives me some scripted excuse as to why the doctor hasn't reviewed my results or called back. Useless. Shame you can't rate 0.

Called to get an appointment to see the practice nurse. Have had surgery and wound needs dressing and packing daily. Called reception asked for appointment explained situation. Earliest they can see me is 21days from day of phone call for daily dressing change

I have had a lovely experience with this practice since moving to the area. I’ve found the administrators on the front desk to be both welcoming and very helpful, and both the nurse and the doctor who I’ve seen have been excellent. Each time I’ve called to book an appointment I’ve got through within a few minutes, and the staff have helped me book one as soon as there’s a slot available. It must be frustrating when services aren’t available on demand, but that’s a National problem and not the fault of the people working hard at this practice.

I have had an extremely awful experience with Hilary Cottage as opposed to other former surgeries I have been registered to. Despite paramedics coming to see me and saying I must have a follow-up with the GP the next day they still said they would not give me an appointment. I was passed around for weeks. After finally being seen, I was never given my test results and am struggling to get an appointment to talk about next steps. All whilst having ongoing migraines and high blood pressure. I have made a formal complaint to NHS England, avoid this practice if you can.

No wonder the administration of the NHS system is so poor, when a surgery can not up date your contact details on their system because you moved out of their catchment area! How difficult can it be to hit a few keys and type in new contact details? Clearly to difficult for this surgery! There data system must be antiquated

I have used this surgery since 1984 , and I must say that in recent years the level of service from the reception staff has gone down hill substantially. Unfortunately anyone who needs to make an appointment to see a doctor there needs to go through them and my best description of the attitude of their reception staff is 'Roadblock Erection' when it really should be 'Roadblock Removal'. My entire family ( wife and 3 adult children) have had reason over the years to change practices for no other reason that the attitude of the Fairford reception staff. They are all registered with the Park Surgery in Cirencester who seem to outperform Fairford on every single metric
.
....today I have done the same , b/c today at the age of 63 and for the first time in over 5 years I attempted to make an appointment to see a doctor at Fairford to be told that b/c I gave a telephone number that was outwith their area' that they wouldn't give me an appointment '....but i'm willing to bet that they have been claiming for me as a registered patient from the NHS....shame on you Fairford

My wife had to visit the surgery as a non resident. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. She had an appoinment with Rob the advanced paramedic within 2 hours of her phone call. He was excellent. She also had to have input from a gp who was also excellent. The receptionist who registered her over the phone was very helpful and very cheery.
The surgery was very pleasant and had lots of useful patient information to read. Excellent service.
