Dixie,and Daisy were obviously very happy spending Xmas at The Retreat, they came home looking great with none of that kennel smell. Highly recommend this lovely family run kennels.

They were absolutely brilliant with our dog. They cleaned him up clipped his nails. He didn't want to come home! Brilliant service. Will definitely use again.

Could not fault this place, lovely well kept and friendly staff. My dog enjoyed her stay, she was able to socialise with other dogs during the day and settled very well on her first visit. We took our recently rescued Dogue de Bordeux Athena here who had trust issues with men. The staff were amazing and I could clearly see when we picked her up that she had already developed a bond with them. Testament in its self that they do an amazing job. Would highly recommend!

A quick review to say thank you to Alli & Rob for taking such good care of our dog. Our previous kennels closed due to the pandemic and The Retreat couldn't have taken better care of us and the dog in transitioning to a new place. We particularly like the supervised play with selected other dogs. Angus made a new friend in Sam! We will be back. The Retreat is a family run business and their commitment to the animals is clear in everything they do. Thanks again.

What a lifesaver!! Having been cancelled on last minute on Christmas Eve by our sitter, we had to hunt for a space for our dogs Kevin and Maggie. The Retreat kindly took them on, and I am so pleased they did as they were so well looked after. Both came back tired and happy, having stayed in heated and modern kennels. Kevin is a very nervous dog and they made extra effort to ensure he was comfortable and well looked after. A very stressful situation made much easier by these guys, thank so much!

I cannot speak highly enough about The Retreat. We had never boarded our dogs before and were apprehensive about doing so. However when we arrived at The Retreat we were immediately put at ease. Ally and Rob met us and showed us around the impressive set up they have there. Lovely glass fronted kennels with underfloor heating, a raised bed plus access for them to a little covered outdoor area. They also have an outdoor enclosed play area with an agility course which the dogs can be taken to run around in. On top of all that the dogs get walked a couple of times a day around the lakes at the water park. The entire facility is immaculately clean and professionally run. When we collected our dogs after boarding them there for 4 nights they were in excellent condition and in no way desperate to leave. We were so impressed that we now use them for day care and despite our dogs being a clingy pair, they always happily trot off to their kennel, tails a wagging. Ally and Rob also look after anxious owners by emailing pictures of the dogs out on walks whilst you are away so that you can see that they are happy. I thoroughly recommend The Retreat for either boarding or day care.

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Retreat! They do a wonderful job of grooming my Westie and she is always so happy to go in to see Rob & Ally. The day care service is brilliant and whilst I’ve not yet used the facility for boarding, I definitely will in the future. It’s just a shame they don’t take humans! Maddie particularly likes the dog playground and of course the fabulous walks around the lakes. Great value, professional service and a friendly welcome.

Fantastic customer service and excellent rapport with the dogs. I took my dog for a very overdue groom today. We were both very anxious due to previous bad experiences with groomers but were very quickly reassured we were in good hands. A hard job well done, we both could not be happier and I will be recommending The Retreat to everyone.
